Dreams Deserve to Bloom

Our dreams deserve to flourish. Our dreams deserve our time. Our dreams deserve space to breathe. Dreams must be unearthed from the soil of doubt we so often bury them in. Dreams are gifts we share with ourselves but also with the world.

Your dreams deserve to be shared out loud. Dreams don’t need to be a secret. Dreams don’t need to stay in the closet of your mind. Dreams need to make space in your heart and be shared with those around you. The dreams that you have are a gift to yourself and all of us.

What if instead of keeping our dreams secured in a mental vault, we unlocked it and let ourselves dream out loud? What if instead of dreaming and dismissing ourselves, we dreamed and believed? What if we dreamed in public?

My friend Natalie and I had a healing chat over IG DMs about the ways we don’t get to dream out loud as BIPOC. We dream in hiding. We dream and put it in our metaphorical pockets. We dream in secret because so often it may not feel safe to dream in a system that continues to dehumanize us. Yet, so often for cis white bodied folx, they get to dream and take up space.

We deserve to take up space. We deserve to dream in public. We deserve to dream. We deserve to dream. We deserve to dream.

What if we let our dreams take the driver's seat? What if we let our dreams take up space? What if fear sat in the backseat of our psychic vehicles? What we listened deeply to our dreams the way we so often listen and submit to doubt?

My hope is that we can continue to take up space. My hope is that we can give ourselves permission to resist the urge to shrink, to try expansion. My hope is that you can dream aloud and share it with folx in your life who have earned the right to hear your stories, your wishes, your big dreams. May you allow those who love and support you to hold space for you and your dreams.

I am dreaming aloud today. I am no longer tucking my dreams away. I’ve been scared to share my offerings with you. I’ve been scared to even share it with myself. But this ends today. Just like my friend and I encourage one another. I hope that this inspires you too. We need your gifts. We need your medicine.

Tell me, what dreams are you ready to share out loud? What dreams have been knocking on your door ready to be unlocked? What dreams are you prepared to put out into the world?
